Vietnam vets and Jane Fonda

It's truly sad how messed up is that whole situation.
I have a relative to whom I'm pretty close and very fond, but no matter how many times I show him the proof that what he and other Vietnam vets accuse Jane Fonda of doing to POWs in North Vietnam DID NOT happen.
That useless war left many of our fellow Americans in a bad psychological state. It's hard to admit to oneself, I suppose, that you were used without clear purpose, and had to witness horrors as part of that.
But the smear of Jane Fonda should end.... now.

She has apologized for that photo, more than once... but that does not mean she caused POWs to be tortured or killed. Those stories were invented.

While it's true that some of the email rumors circulating are false (she never collected names of POWs and turned them in to Vietnamese captors), what she DID do was bad enough. And to see her lauded as an actress and celebrity now is something that should have never been allowed to happen.
