this is stupid, why should they even know how to use one?

The bigger issue is why can't they figure out a very simple piece of technology. Once again, the OT millennials miss the forest for the trees.

Boomers can't complete simple tasks after I've shown them how to do so, step by step, multiple times. Yet, they want to mock children for not knowing how to do something without any instruction or explanation whatsoever.

This is a delightful microcosm.

I'm beginning to think that some of you couldn't make it up several floors if the elevator was broken.

Smartphones and computers literally have tiny pictures on them. You don't even have to be literate to use them for most basic tasks.

And oh, by the way, the kids figured it out in less than five minutes. But I would be willing to bet that you didn't actually watch the video. Need me to write down steps on how to get it queued up?

1)The hypocrisy is astounding. I guarantee there are things that 10 year olds know how to do online and with computers in general that a majority of the people in here over 50 would think is magic.

2)I can't believe people still fall for the "Oh my god look at how dumb young people are videos." I mean I can because they want to feel superior. But it's like fricking Water's World on Fox where ole Jess asks like 1,000 people on an Ivy League campus who the Vice President is and then edits the responses to show the three people who didn't know. And the the 45-70 demographic who wack it to Fox News can go "OH MY GOD LOOK AT THE ME-LILLENIALS! CAN"T BELIEVE WE STORMED THE BEACHES SO THEY CAN IGNORE LEARNING CIVICS!!!!>!?!?!?!?!!!"

I'm proud to announce that even at the very advanced age of 43 I have learned how to play videos and use the intrawebs. Although it took me awhile to realize that my computer screen doesn't plug into my VCR

Apparently having unimpeded vision while driving is too old fashioned for today's teens too.

not only knowing how to use a rotary phone, but knowing to dial a rotary phone by using the two prongs in the cradle saved the life of a friend of mine in Yemen a few years ago

Old people can’t figure out how to turn on an iPhone so what’s the difference?

SMH about kids nowadays. Most of us here are old enough to remember that we had to dial 0 for the operator for emergencies and to get a long distance call.

Just because you're geriatric doesn't mean doesn't mean the rest of us are.

I'm 27 and don't remember that, and my family definitely never owned a rotary phone in my lifetime.

I don't know about that. I'm almost 40 and I grew up with 911 for emergencies and dialing 1 and the area code for long distance. I know how to and have used rotary phones before but they were already considered outdated in the 80's.
