Seems a little counterintuitive, no? If you're goal is to release gators into the wild, hunting them defeats that purpose. Unless they are getting paid to release and hunt, then it's a never-ending money making cycle I guess.

There is also a video linked in that story about an alligator coming up on the bank to take a fish a little boy had just caught. That was a bit scary

Grow them to two feet, release 25 a year and hunt 5 a year. How is that counter-intuitive?

We used to pen raise pheasants and quail in lean bird years and release them for hunting.,
