Just think none of this would have ever happened had we abolished prisons and given these people a living wage.

yes, i think in this situation its pretty clear cut. If the situation was more dicey and questionable, i'd agree more with you.

fwiw i agree with you and i hope i'd have the courage to defend the woman as well. but that said, i think we've gone so far down the rabbit hole that even clear cut situations like this can land good men in hot water if the narrative is pushed hard enough.

difference with this situation was a victim on ground needing protection. It wasn't just a cop in the open that could have retreated behind vehicle and continue to talk him down. The situation should have NEVER gotten to the point where he had opportunity to put a gun to that woman's head.

don't understand why the cop retreated from the victim and essentially risked her safety there for a second. eta: just read, the cop allowed him to walk all the way up and put the gun to her head... SHOT WAY TOO LATE BUD.
Plus, he clearly has the marksmanship to neutralize the situation.

Because in the world we live in where LEO's get chastised for doing their jobs, we've made them 2nd guess every decision.
Police Baw could've jumped out shooting and been justified, but the progfilth of the world would've torn him apart and thus risking harm to him or his family.
