I assume that this kid comes from a fairly wealthy family, and I assume he's going to cop a plea on this and it won't be so bad. If that video was shown before a judge and jury, I would be sweating it out if I was the kid. That punch was brutal, and the strike on the ground was worse.
I don't know about sucker punch, but puncher clearly wasn't in the fight, and the punchee was distracted. And ole boy swung roundhouse from his spine to the face, after coming up from the side. I wouldn't want to have to defend him with that video.

It's pretty crappy video, but looking again, yeah, it does look like the guy put up his fists. I would definitely argue that. I think if Ole Baw would have stepped between, and then punched from his chest forward, it wouldn't have looked as bad. But either way, probably wouldn't make a difference. But ole baw swung from the moon.

That's one of the things that threw me about the article. Were they trying to make it racial? Then you figured out later that both people were white!
I went to school with the kids Dad and the kids Grandfather was the head coach at the school. Not sure what the kids Dad does for a living but this is going to cost some serious money. We have all done boneheaded things as young men but this is real boneheaded.
