Why would anyone put that on the internet?
Exactly. It's like they are proud of how bad they are at being parents.
1. Didn't anchor dresser to wall.
2. Weren't watching 2 year olds. They weren't even in earshot to hear the little one crying his head off or the loud crash of a dresser falling down.

I read an article about this today, twin rescues brother from under dresser. Was thinking what a mess bolting furniture to walls might be when you want to rearrange the room. A thought, straps like seatbelt material bolted to the top back of the furniture and bolted to the floor. Just thinking here, would that work? Maybe floor holes would not be a good idea. Easier than than, child proof door locks. I think the furniture falls because a child opens a drawer and climbs in it.
Maybe the straps bolted to an attachment secured to the floor. Furniture would be easy to move and floor attachment could be small enough not to be a problem, since it would be against floor molding.??

How about just teaching your kids not to climb on furniture

All it takes is a nickel sized hole in the wall to secure something like that. Its an easy fix to repair the hole.
Back to the video though, I almost feel like this is staged. The dresser is completely empty and the doors are open almost begging for the kids to climb up them. Why else would you post this video? I know that my wife and I don't hurry up to go post "bad parenting" videos like this.
ETA: Many real wood dressers when full are hard to actually do this too as they are too heavy.

I just saw this on Fox News.
If I were the parents, I wouldn't show my face in public after that incident.

His twin brother is the goat for pushing that dresser of him...

What bullshite. Kid waits like 3 minutes before doing anything. fricks around with connecting the baby monitor again...climbs OVER the dresser with bro pinned under it... Brother more or less freed himself.
two little kids, but I wouldnt say the kid was in any hurry.

His brother was trying to figure out why the noise machine had stopped working. It was unplugged from both the wall behind the dresser and on the noise machine itself. He even climbed on the dresser adding weight on top of his twin in an effort to turn back on the noise machine.
The parents are extremely lucky nothing worse happened.

yeah
the dresser in my daughters room isn't anchored, but I'm quite certain I could jump in the top drawers and it wouldn't flip over

The dad probably did like most men when assembling furniture and took that bag with the strap and screw and tossed it.
Yes anything with drawers or taller than 4' should be anchored.

I think they just feel like they avoided a major tragedy and wanted to share their experience in order to raise awareness.
This also happened to my co-worker recently. Her kid was o.k. as well but she said that it scared the hell out of her. I had never even heard of wall anchors before she mentioned it but this is apparently a pretty common occurrence.
