Dude at the end even whipped out a payment coupon book.
They still give those out?

In 2022, are people really still using the little payment booklets?
mine came with an app to where you can pay by phone if you want to, unfortunately I wasn't able to download it on my rotary, dial up, flip, bag phone

Pretty wild that just 5 years ago I paid around 31k for a new crew cab XLT F150.
I paid 37k for the same truck, sport package and FX4. Good luck finding one for under 60k these days.

I pay a little under a grand in car note but it’s a 48 month at 1% interest for 2 vehicles.
I’ll probably get a “new” car in the next year or year and a half.

Any moron can go buy a 80k vehicle with a 9 year loan today. It’s pathetic

Guess I'll drive mine into the dirt and go used afterwards. I'm not paying $50+k for a truck

there comes a point of diminishing returns on repairing the old clunker though, that's what I ran into two trucks ago

We have some rent houses and the couple both drive 70-80k vehicles. One is a stay at home mom. We charge $1200 for rent. Kids these days would rather show off their nice vehicles with 9 year loans than to buy a house with a mortgage.
They obviously can’t afford a mortgage because of their expensive taste in vehicles.

I traded my 2017 in back in 2020 on a 2019 Platinum with low miles. The new truck belonged to a friend that only used it to tow a boat on the weekends so I knew what I was getting and couldn't pass it up. I got 35,000 on trade for mine and picked up the platinum for 42,000 with 20,000 miles on it. I will drive it for as long as it will last.

My car payment is $0
Last year I bought a brand new 2021 Wrangler with cash.
Y’all keep making those bankers rich.

my wife has a 2009 chevy traverse with 130k miles. she hasn't expressed interest in getting something new. she'd love it but doesn't hate what she has. we probably pay $5-700 a years in maintenance on it between repairs, tires, and oil changes. that's hella cheaper than a single month payment for any of them in that video.

I bought an F-250 years ago(diesel,) thinking I would absolutely drive it into the dirt, maybe it would outlast me, I spent almost enough repairing it between 100,00-130,000 miles to have paid cash for a new gasoline F-150

You could have gotten a 5.0 for that amount.

2 year old car, 10k off original MSRP?
B. it had only 4000 miles.
C. standard Ecoboosts were selling at the same or higher price without the Ecoboost Premium features of this car and without the HPP and HP packages.
D. MSRP for a new similarly outfitted Mustang GT Premium is over $60k. No way that can be purchased with so few miles and those features for $36k.

The people in that video are idiots for having $1200 - $1500 a month car payments
The people in that video are lying and this video is staged.
Notice they all work at a dealership. “Hello sir how much is your car payment” to his coworkers. Watch the last interaction as the guy is just filming his door and the black guy walks in. Oh I just so happen to have my payment book right here.

Those are expensive when you develop engine issues. The old Ford PowerStroke 7.3L (Same block as the International T444E) was a beast though.

that's where I fricked up, didn't research and got the 6.0, they were both pretty new to the market at the time though

My 1999 BMW M3 was paid off in 2004. Haven’t had a car payment since. I love nice cars but not enough to go back to paying every month.

In my day you got Something cheap like Toyota single cab, Nissan hardbody, Isuzu pickup, or entry level car with AC and a radio.
If someone asked what you got you could say Toyota Pickup or Toyota car. No other name was used as it was a practical vehicle.
Yeah most cars now are way fancier than people need.
