You really think what type of car someone drives determines what they can afford or how much assets they have? Are you like 15 or something?

I take a shortcut through a rundown neighborhood with cheap homes occasionally. I always notice the nice cars some of them have sitting in front of their homes that have needed maintenance for 25 years.

Funny because I see rich people with nice cars and avoid the poor areas to avoid getting hit by used Camrys and Altimas with no or underinsurance lol.

I'll say there is a state of bliss in just knowing you have the financial freedom to go out and pay cash for a luxury car and not feeling the need to act on it.

Don't get me wrong, car salesmen are the worst, but....

They too are having to adjust their ways to this "new normal" of expensive crap we have to deal with thanks to...

Well, you know.

Keep voting Democrat. Soon it will be $4000 a month.

100% agree, but what's the solution when it's time for a new whip, make one from odds and ends laying around the house?

I most always buy used so I mitigate the financial hit as much as I can. I also keep vehicles on average 10yrs.

Vehicles as a status symbol is so 1930ish. Its a poverty mentality. Their Cayenne isn't impressing rich people, its the poor people that are impressed.

The old Welfare Cadillac was a great example.

I keep mine for a while too, the last time it was time to update was during the aftermath(in the car industry,) of Covid, not much inventory new or used so I just found something I liked and was happy with the price and bought it, I was prepared to pay cash but I didn't see the need when they were offering 0% financing, I know that goes against the grain for all of the OT baller financial experts on here but I'm happy with it

If some dude want to pay it, go for it. I'd kick my own arse every day for doing something that dumb though.

Opportunity cost on a $1500/month vehicle is pretty frickin massive.

You pass on a lot of other things to settle.

My wife and I generally alternate getting vehicles so that we don't have 2 car notes at once. We could afford it but like keeping our bills fairly low. The most expensive vehicle note I've ever paid was $420/mo though. Hell my mortgage isn't much more than 1k

Bought new in 2015. Its got 63k miles, I'll probably hang on to it until it starts giving me trouble or gets over 100k

Not having a car note is liberating, particularly with the current pricing.

I purchased a 2020 Mustang Ecoboost with the High Performance Package and the Handling Package with only 4000 miles for $36k from a dealer. It was $46k MSRP new. Broaden your search. Deals are out there.

You could have gotten a 5.0 for that amount.

So just a World Star video... No background on these people? Did they not put anything down or have a trade in?

Sounds like a bunch of bull shite. I'll give them one thing they have in common, they all looked young and dumb. That one baw with the 2500 GMC Denali reminded me of the type, at the Prop Stop, who would have a 200K go fast boat but lives in a trailer.

Dude at the end even whipped out a payment coupon book...

I haven't seen one of those since I bought my S10 Blazer in 1991.

What is the difference in you driving your 60k pickup to the office vs me driving my 20k Corolla to the office?

How much can you tow with that Corolla and how much do you suppose you could haul in the trunk?

I'll use my savings to rent a UHaul for the 2 hours a year that I'd need that

Cool. We don't all spend our whole lives on our asses in an office.

In 2022, are people really still using the little payment booklets?
