54, man. I was 17-18 at the time.
I think he is still teaching there. Took drafting and electronics with him.

My BIL lives in Allen, only 2 miles from the campus, but due to the way the district lines are drawn, his kids go to Lovejoy. Been to both football stadiums and Lovejoy is obviously much smaller, but they have the flashing LED lights for touchdowns and halftime shows. Amazing how many people leave after half.

Can’t imagine what it costs to feed a teenager today just with lunches at school.

But I bet they never had public school king cake.
Do schools still have those plastic bag milks that you had to stick your straw into?

Dutchtown HS lunch is $2.95. My son brings a cliff bar or something similar each day too.
At my daughters' catholic school, the lunches are $4.50.
With extras these little MFers run me $15-$16/day.

Our youngest has free lunch now. Not really sure why. Federal grant or something like that. I wouldn't be mad about paying for it.

At my high school, we had french fries everyday. I thought we hit the jackpot my first week freshman year.

I went to a small private school K-10 where you just ordered what you wanted to a certain extent. Pizza, hamburgers whatever. 11 & 12th I had BR public school lunch with the bags of milk. Cost $1 I think

At 6’5”? They got to be uncoordinated af
Even at Allen if you’re 6’5” the coach should be tripping over himself to get you out for a sport

I went to public school. Last year 1997. Lunch I think was $0.75 (at the most it might have been cheaper).
The average inflation rate per year since 1997 has been about 2.4%.. $2.95 is well beyond the inflation rate. That's highway robbery.
