Very cool. This is true space exploration, unfortunately we are blowing massive chunks of the budget keeping the ISS going (I get his is the ESA but point is unmanned probes get much more actualmscience done). NASA needs to redirect its focus toward probes and unmanned platforms.

The Rosetta probe is following far from the comet but the Philae lander actually landed on the comet.

Wrong as usual. Rosetta landed on it 30 September 2016.

That’s how it ended it’s mission (crashing) but the probe was designed to follow behind he comet and launching the lander off to actually land on it.
