This is just dumb. What do you want him to do, run across into oncoming traffic in a snowstorm waiving his arms when no one can stop?

Cross the median to the semis already wrecked and grab the road flares.......

Go back across said median quickly make 150 yards distance from wrecks. Strike road flares toss close to side of the road to indicate hazard. Drivers should instinctively began decelerating.

Or record child screaming "DADDY!". That saved a lot of lives.

Real life is not an action movie and you're not an action hero. It's all over before you get to the first truck.

And

He was trying to help people when he caught the little girl crying.

Yes, I remember very well when I was doing Search and Rescue during Katrina screaming "Anyone need help?" with my cell phone camera. Infact I asked the elderly lady who wreaked of piss to take a selfie with me while I carried her to the grass when the concrete was too hot for her bare feet.

Appreciate the input.

I don't see why people choose to drive in that mess.

When we had that snow/ice storm last year I didn't even check the roadways because just by watching the local news, I knew that it wasn't safe out and told my boss I wasn't coming in.

Who's trying to be the internet badass Mr. "search and rescue"?

Keep living in your fantasy land of playing the hero.
