I respectfully disagree PJinAtl. They had Gisele, Heidi Klum, Allesandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Doutzen, et.al. Plenty of S-tier talent.
I blame Kate Upton. Her struggle with weight really poured gasoline on the body image fire and compelled these publications to publish other body types.

KU was very good looking from the boobs up. There is a lot to be said for that.
She was not gross like some of the *ahem* "Plus sized" ladies that came after. Again, I don't think AG is "gross", but she's literally too good looking to be that big. She's tall - 5'9 or so and her weight was all over the place - at around 150 or 155 - she was printing money, but she would balloon up to 200 (and she appears to be 195 to 200 now) and that's just too big, IMHO, even with her traditional good looks, height and large frame.
