re: Values that we honor and that anyone can achieve ?

Humility.

It tends to be misunderstood, as people often only think of it as the quality of someone who doesn't want the limelight. But, more appropriately, humility is reflected in the actions of a person when they do the right thing at the right time. It requires that a person has some understanding of themselves and of the truth of a situation.

As you say, not everyone is rich, attractive or athletic. And most are not overly intelligent, influential, heroic, etc... Not everyone is born to be a hero or to do things that will be widely appreciated. But we all do have talents in varying degrees and if we all use our talents in the right way to help others in whatever role we play in society-- at work and at home as parents, children, etc.-- the world can be a better place. (To mythologize the point: If the moon obsessed with trying to outshine the sun, it would be to the detriment of all life on earth; whereas, life flourishes when the moon understands it's role as a mediator of the sun's light and a regulator of tides in it's own right.)

Again, people usually just think of humility in context of the man or woman who declines the spotlight when they accomplish something. But if a man refuses to step up and help others with his strength or intelligence when the opporunity arises, I'd argue it's similarly as selfish or vain as the man who unjustly steps up to claim glory.

Humility exists at the intersection of:

1) The inscription at the Oracle at Delphi, as expressed by Socrates: "Know thyself."

and,

2) The heart of Christ's message from the sermon on the mount: "Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself." (You can take the religious angle out of that, but the essence of the message is the same.)

But at this point, chris is using you claiming him to be an alter ( something you did not do ) as his "out". claiming that violated the bet. Despite the fact that was not in any way shape or form a part of the bet.

But NOW chris is saying you lack integrity because you make a comment about his board behavior in the board. Whereas chris has on several occasions made threats to people OFF THE BOARD, continues to accuse Jones and LL of behavior OFF THE BOARD.


So making "accusations" about message board behavior on a message board = NO INTEGRITY
Making threats to harm people and spreading rumors about them in real life =INTEGRITY
