No it's not his accent that's the problem. He said "the teachers was saying". That's not an accent, that's basic English. His grasp of English seems to be at a first graders level.

He's probably not an idiot, but this is a sign that his teachers are almost all terrible and shouldn't be teaching. If half the class thinks "the teachers was saying" is acceptable, then you have failed. The fact that the valedictorian probably won't be able to get a good job simply from sounding like an illiterate moron in the interview is incredible.

Sorry for the late response, but I didn't see this last night.

Anyways, I'm not saying that a problem of the magnitude couldn't be a measure of intelligence; I'm saying that the cognitive abilities that would allow one to solve this problem, can be measured in a more reasonable manner. I mean Sherlock Holmes wouldn't have to solve what was perceived an unsolvable case to show his intelligence, he would have dominated an intelligence test, even a brief rest that could take as little as 20 or 30 minutes.

As a graduate of Amite High, I can talk shite about my former school and what the black community has done to it. Totally ruined it. We had some really good teachers, but they all took flight. And so did The white students. The ratio went from 50/50 to about 10-15/90 in a flurry.
You can bet when the school has failing grades, it'll be pinned on someone else
As far as the Ricard kid, I graduated with one who made better grades then me, but talked the same way.
In college he didn't do so wel, FWTW
I don't know anything about the Graduate though. But I can about bet he wouldn't have a 4.0 with my old teachers.

What year is this, 1916? In this day and age, who the frikk cares if males have facial hair? Do they have rules against piercings, tattoos, etc? I can't believe they actually can enforce this rule.
