Some.

Some on the back deck.

My main issues with this kit are:

1. the tracks are too short witch makes them banjo tight. Thus thry don’t have any natural track sag.

2. The design of the hull sides and back deck, coupled with the vagueness of the instructions made the hull assembly close to a nightmare. The way some of the parts fit together didn’t give sufficient area to properly secure them without using a lot of glue. Luckily I was able to hide this.

3. You have to assemble the hull parts in a certain order or it will not work. The instructions doesn’t make it clear though. Thankfully I caught this before it was too late.

Nice job on the build, as per usual old boy.

Thanks for sharing.

I knew of this vehicle but I’d never heard of the Bishop SPG.

Looks like it was designed and built by committee.

It’s profile is so vertical that it would seem to be very easy to flog the Bishop.

It was a repurposed Valentine hull. So like the Preist, the Bishop was the Allies taking an out of date tank and turning into a SPG.

True. But keep in mind this is an artillery vehicle. It would not be direct on the front line usually. Instead it would be at least a few miles from the front.

Well I was wrong. He was on an M10, not a M7. My mistake was unintentionally.

No problem. This is the only M10 I’ve built thus far.

Its a small 1/72md scale kit I built probably close to 10 years ago. I do have a 1/35 scale kit in my stash to build though.

Well Darth, you have taught me something…I never had any such a vehicle existed. It seems like an ingenious machine. I am suprised I haven’t seen these before.

WWII saw the birth of mobile artillery. It was used by the Germans, Americans, British, French, and Soviets.

Ok Darth, your input is requested

My son just finished a Takom Maus V2 tank, was wondering what paints and scheme to go with. The treads took him forever. I've showed him your threads and he's jealous. He's decent with an airbrush, normally uses acrylic Model Master stuff.

He also asks what (brand and paint) you use for your US olive drab...

Well, the think is the Maus never got past the development stage so there really isn’t much to go by. I think only a couple were built. As far as a scheme goes, he could go by some late war camouflage patterns used by the Germans. These were usually a base of dark yellow with patterns of rust and dark green. By that stage of the war production of paint was sporadic so sometimes a panzer might only have either a green pattern on dark yellow or rust pattern on dark yellow. And due to shortages of chemicals and dyes, it was common for different shades of these colors on different vehicles. Here are some ideas he can run with…

I use Tamiya acrylics thinned with Tamiya acrylic thinner. I brush paint everything.

Vader, what’s a good way to ease into modeling? I feel like my son and I could really enjoy it. We have no experience and no information. Would love to know where to start.

So Darth, when you do the weathering, is there something specifically made that you buy for model weathering? Or do you just kinda wing it and figure it out using stuff on hand, or that you've come up with in the past?
