The tracking site you are using is probably not the correct one for international shipments. For example the chinese EMS shipping site is a little different then the normal USPS site. If you enter the tracking # in the normal USPS site it gives you almost no information. Try putting the tracking # in google to see if it gives you several options or google on how to track international shipments.

I figured this out because Ebay wasn't updating the movement of the package. I googled my package from China and it showed a lot more progress then what Ebay was showing on its page. Ordered a item Dec 1st from China and got it today. Have another one sitting in customs in Miami.

It gets like that. Especially when you have kids.

Be lucky it's in NYC customs and not Chicago customs. Anything I've ordered that landed in NYC was out in 3-7 days. Chicago consistently 8-10 days. Next time pay the extra $$$ for FedEx or UPS if offered. British Royal mail delivery to USPS was 17 days. Derby, England to Louisiana via FedEx was 2 days. Shipped Tuesday and arrived Thur 1030 in the morning.

Let me guess...You prefer FedEx and UPS?

Unfortunately for you, both UPS and FedEx use the USPS for a lot of their deliveries. USPS also has the main contract with Amazon, so they must not frick up as much as you think they do.

We have a very good post office CSR in Gulfport.

But New York is the epicenter of USPS issues. Hopefully it's customs but they have a lot of packages disappear for good up there.

Buy American!

Wife bought item from American website and no where did it state item was manufactured or shipping from China. I'm sure you own a few things in your home from China as well.

Exact same thing happened to me... on the ninth. Vendor said the item shipped and gave me a tracking number. It didn't show up in their system until today. The package was shipped from NOLA and arrived 30 miles away 7 days later.

Interestingly enough, I didn't know that. I bought something on target.com and it shipped either ups or FedEx. As I was following the tracking, I see it eventually gets transferred to USPS. I was like "what is this frickery"? Then it never showed up. I had to call and get a replacement package.

I hate when any public entity meddles in the private entity pond.

At least you now know the exact day on which your package was stolen.

11/28/16 for me. Everything else I ordered on that day has come in. Most within a few days of the 28th. Last thing I'm waiting on is still showing picked up by mail carrier tracking information will be updated.

But of course let's not forget that the USPS sucks arse.

Amazon prime is pretty kick arse. Especially with the deals they're having right now.

Yep, depending on the dimensions and weight of the package they'll pawn it off to the usps. Some vendors give the option for ups and or FedEx only and no usps. I always refuse to use the usps. They're flat out horrible! That's the federal government for you!

Is customs really that bad? I remember ordering pot seeds from Amsterdam(I believe) as an angsty teen that came through in a CD case, no problems at all.

I ordered a custom children's book for my nephew from the UK that's supposed to be here by Dec. 21st and now you assholes have me nervous.

I ordered something from eBay for Christmas for the wife and it came from Australia. USPS is showing it arrived in NYC on December 9th at their processing facility and it has had no activity on the tracking number since then.

I uploaded and ordered a print from Shutterfly on 12/5. Order was processed and sent via UPS. The package arrived at USPS in Baton Rouge on 12/10 or about 15 miles from where I live.

And it has been "stuck" or "missing" since then.

I absolutely cannot stand our postal service.

Sometimes it has to do with the actual carrier. If its coming from Australia then a third party carrier like dhl might be involved and especially this time of year it may take some extra time to get in the usps' possession.

I ordered a baby gift a couple christmases ago from Jacksonville...fricking took 3 weeks to get to br because it sat at the transfer facility in Dallas for days. It can be even trickier if you live in a rural zone.

Hope it's something like this and no Newman shenanigans.
