It was indeed a terrible accident but it’s absolutely crazy to me that she wants to drain a massive reservoir lake because of her son’s accident

quote:

ATLANTA - Eleven years after the day that changed her life forever, Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster is calling for support to drain Georgia's Lake Lanier. On July 6, 2012, Foster's 11-year-old son Kile Glover was riding on an inner tube on the lake when he was hit by a jet ski.

I know everyone grieves differently but this is a bit self-centered

That is an irrational response to the loss of her son.

This headline is just to grab attention. This is actually what she wants to do:

quote:

The petition calls for Lake Lanier to be drained, cleaned, and restored with safety measures "to ensure the well-being of all individuals engaging in personal watercraft and recreational activities."

We should drain the Atlantic because so many people died in it.

What does that have to do with the possible presence of "haunted debris" on the lake floor?

I would advise anyone not to swim in Lake Lanier. There’s too many horror stories coming from that lake.

Is she not worried about climate change and rising global sea levels?

So, if this happens, I believe the parents of the guy who was swept away by riptides (allegedly) in Florida a few weeks ago need to start demanding that the Gulf of Mexico be drained.

We should turn 285 into grass because so many people die on it.

How is draining the lake going to help safety measures of people on a jet ski? did the jet ski hit something IN the lake which then hit the kid?

It’s literally in the article. She isn’t saying that her kid was killed by debris, it’s a way to honor her dead child. This is what she said:

quote:

Draining, cleaning, and restoring Lake Lanier is not only necessary but also an opportunity to honor the memory of those who have lost their lives and prevent further tragedies.
