SIL owned one and put 130K without issues

It'd still be on the road if she wasn't the worst GD driver in Baton Rouge. And trust me, I make that claim knowing full well how bad BR drivers are...

Probably just cost a little more on repairs for the Acura. Not much difference here.

A sales guy at an Acura dealership once told me, "Base model Acuras are midline Hondas"

Acura is Honda's luxury brand line. Both built off the same basic platform for frame, engine, and drivetrain. Just a different outer shell and Acura has a few extra fancy touches and features.

When you look under the hood of an Acura it says Honda

its just a nicer car than a Honda.

I have had both. To me, the drive quality and general "tightness" between the two is night and day. The Acura is a far better car from a "fun to drive" perspective. If you just want to go from A to Z , save the money and get the Honda. I own two Acuras now (MDX, TSX) and I've never spent a dime on unexpected repairs. I also had a Civic that was indestructible.

Confirmed

Both can be configured to a 3.5l V6 but the Accord is rated at 278HP where as the Acura is 290HP for the same engine.

My 2000 Acura TL got over 200k miles. Drove it as a hand me down all through college before finally donating it. I downgraded to a Honda Accord Sport once I was on my own after college and Im hoping for just the opposite that my Honda will live as long as my Acura.

Most Hondas in the US are made in the US. Acuras are made in Japan.
