re: USC will remove the John Wayne exhibit

I think his comments were reprehensible but answer me this:

Considering the African American community continues to excuse the horrible actions and violence in their communities as “this is our culture and our young men don’t know any better,” at what point do they recognize that people 20, 50, 100, 150, 200 years ago lived certain ways and said certain things because that was their society and culture?

This isn’t said to excuse slavery or blatantly racist comments, but rather to put them into the perspective of their times in society and culture.

You can’t reason with people screaming at the top of their lungs, you just have to let them scream until they get tired and fall asleep.

They need to give any money back that he donated as it is now tainted with white supremacy.
