I don't buy into the "diversity is an inherent good" stuff, but generally, in work that is heavily relationship-based, it is probably better to have a more diverse work force. It expands business opportunities. On your list, public accounting and finance - especially high finance - are very heavily relationship-based. You can pull in more business if you have people that can relate to a larger share of clients.

I was incorrect with my characterization, I meant culture and place of genetic origin. Race doesn't dictate culture. It surely doesn't. Environments do though.
