I know Tulane isn't cheap, but its more expensive than Miami.. Which is ranked higher.. I would have thought Miami would have cost more.

Boy he picked an interesting hill to die on this morning didn’t he?

Add me to the Pell Grant graduate list. Plus GI Bill, plus about 10k in student loans.

I got a $500 Pell Grant check in the mid 80s. That was it.

I graduated.

Princeton apparently seems to have separated itself from Harvard, Yale, and the others, no?

I can name myself. And since I earned two degrees, I'll count myself twice. I don't really ask around of my friends and colleagues if they grew up "poor." My parents divorced when I was 5 and that pretty much sealed the deal once my dad retired.

Most of those top schools have tuition allowances from their endowment. If you are poor and Rice wants you they will just let you go for free with no loans. Academic scholarships for full rides are pretty common.

Myself. I came from a single mother lower class family. I am a smart guy and I worked my arse off to get where I am today.

I was helped greatly by the Pell grants which reduced my student loan debt load.

I am not unique or special. There are many others out there like me.

Again, why do you want to deny smart and motivated kids from poor families a change at higher education?

ETA: lmao at your retarded dumbass getting roasted in the replies.

As if these rankings weren't unreliable enough.

Smart, motivated and poor means someone deserves free shite? Of they are that motivated and smart, they can work through college and take some loans.

Let's frame the question a different way. Has this poster earned more and paid more taxes because he received the Pell Grant and thus "paying it back" than he would have if he didn't get the Pell Grant and didn't go to college?

As if rich people don't get free shite. lmao.

The maximum pell grant is $6,895 for 2023. Not life changing money here dude.

Most do take loans. I grew up poor and had both loans and Pell grants....

It's not all or nothing Mr. Pearl Clutcher.

ULM at a respectable 369. Tight on the heels of ULL at 345.

You heavily implied that rich people do not benefit from government grant and subsidies.

So? Still free and unearned.

Your point? Folks from all walks of life are given grants and other subsidies from the government. Why are you so outraged at poor kids getting a chance to get out of their class and do better for themselves?

You cannot address the question either.

Stop hiding behind the mask and just own that you hate poor people. lmao.

You are a typical OT coward who hides their power levels.
