It’s always the first thing I notice when I get off a plane. I was in NYC for a week a few months ago. I switched planes at OHare in Chicago and it was like everyone was 50lb heavier than anyone I saw in NYC

Poor folks have fewer joys in life, but eating tasty food is something they can enjoy. Plus they likely have a history or bad choices, lack of self control, and care little about how they look because it’s not as important to their career or attracting the opposite sex. Plus they may not care as much about living long lives.

In the African American community, they sometimes see obesity as sexy. I know several successful, educated black women who are overweight and don’t care.

The rise of medications like Ozempic and Wegovy has injected a new dynamic into America’s struggle with obesity, prompting questions as to whether the country is at a turning point in a health epidemic that’s persisted for years.

A neighbor of mine started Ozempic a few months ago. It is working wonders at dissolving the fat off her body.

But she looks extremely frail and unnatural. I don't know how to explain it. Her face is a bit too gaunt. Not in a malnourished way. I'm really how to describe it. It's almost uncanny valley.

She's also dissolved her curves. Like I expect some flattening when someone overweight loses weight, but it's like her chest and butt went first and the rest is catching up.

Iowa - 37.9%
Kentucky - 37.8%
Indiana - 37.8%
Tennessee - 37.8%

All but two of those states are in The South. Not surprising.

I consider Both W.VA and Oklahoma the South.

I'm honestly surprised that Texas didn't make the list. We have some ham planets here.

People don’t realize how easy it can be to lose weight. I started up again a month ago with 10k steps, work out 4 afternoons a week purely for health. The benefits that exercise has on me mentally is the best part, I encourage anybody to start taking walks when getting a cloudy head/stressed. Gamechanger

Baloney. I travel all over, and while the people out west are very nice (I’m departing SLC as I type), the people down south are also very friendly. Now, the fat part…

“A pleasure to be around” I think is probably pretty subjective, don’t you?

Not sure I agree about the pleasant part but certainly agree that I've lived in liberal shitholes like Brooklyn and California most of my adult life and travel all the time to my Mom's in Pensacola and my brother's in Alabama and the liberal shitholes are just a whole lot nicer in about every way.

You baws get sucked into these numbers too much. From the slimmest state to the fattest state, you're talking about difference of just shy of 3 in 10 people being fat to 4 in 10 being fat at the MS/AR end of the scale. Using percentages with double digit differences is throwing off your perception.

In other words, the entire country is fat. There's really not that much difference here.
