Something about this is all to convenient...

For the third time in seven days, an Arleigh-Burke class destroyer in the Red Sea has been targeted by missiles fired from the coast of Yemen, the Navy's top officer told reporters today.

We are a weak nation getting weaker. Everyone knows that except the voting public.

What's "convenient" about it? Its highly likely the rebels have access to missiles, but have no idea how to fire them accurately or effectively. They are pointing and shooting. They are basically tent dwellers trying to operate sophisticated electronic targeting systems...now with limited radar capability.

If you are going for some grand conspiracy to divert the publics eyes from scandal. It's doubtful they haven't been remotely effective enough for anyone to care. It doesn't even make front page on any news sites and they are all about diverting from anything negative about this administration or the presumptive next president.

Ok navtiger. If you were on that ship you would want to unleash on whoever was shooting at you, no?

They can only poke the bear so many times.

This has all the makings of another Gulf of Tonkin conspiracy. Missiles were fired...need to hit back. Iranians on the ground. Iranian and Russian warships in the area...

Do you think this would be going on with Ronald Reagan as President?

The US Navy has retaliated against radar sites on the Yemeni coast. The ships aren't just sitting there doing nothing.

You mistook his scheduling of tee times for a red line, just a scratch-out for a rescheduling.

Yes but I would also understand that politics is all part of this game. Having been antagonized by Iranians in the straights of Hormuz when I was a mission commander I wanted to fire at them...but I wasn't going to be the one to start a war. I have also operated in the area the Mason is in right now and its a mess with lots of shipping and small fishing boats. But just because you want to shoot at them doesn't mean its a good idea. You are talking about launching missiles into a sovereign nation, there a protocols and permission needed from said nation. If it was from a ship it would already be at the bottom of the Red Sea.

What part of NO is that? Iranian ships and Russians are there, sir. There have now been three separate incidents that we know of.

They blew up 241 Marines in Beirut under his watch. Reagan's legend and reality are two very different things.
