NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. gas prices jumped to an average of $4 a gallon again Monday as the U.S. and Iran launched more attacks.

According to motor club federation AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline is now back to $4. The average price a year ago was $3.14 a gallon.

People around the world are also dealing with high gas prices as a result of the war.

Gas prices first went over $4 a gallon on average at the end of March. They dipped below that in mid-June and continued to fall as crude oil prices eased when the U.S. and Iran reached an interim deal. Even then, President Donald Trump expressed frustration that gas prices weren’t falling as quickly as oil prices.

According to AAA's website, the national average for Regular is up half a penny per gallon from yesterday, and up 13.1 cents per gallon from a week ago, sitting at $4.003/gallon.

Indiana is still the cheapest statewide average at $3.353/gallon, though that's mainly because the state sales and excise taxes are still suspended, which Google AI tells me is accounting for roughly a 62 cents per gallon savings.

Average in Louisiana is $3.586/gallon, Texas at $3.571/gallon, and Mississippi at $3.570/gallon.

The morons in California are at $5.497/gallon.
