i just don't understand how cops can't have more understanding
if they want to arrest the original guy even though he feels he doesn't deserve it and forcefully get him.. okay.. but why come back in and take two more. the other guy they took wasn't doing anything except putting his hands up
the other two didn't do anything except whine inside their residence. i mean that's still understandable.. they were upset and confused..

Happened to me once with BRPD. When they got to the party, everyone was inside and no music was playing. Tried closing the door, and they pushed their way in and put everyone in handcuffs. Nobody got arrested though
I like how the one cop is sitting on him telling him to roll over...while tazing him. Then, the other cop comes over and says the same thing while hitting him with a baton

Gump Training Camp is turning out some really fine candidates

Looks like this happened just off the strip on Frank Thomas Ave. according to al.com
Side note...why is there a Frank Thomas Ave. in Tuscaloosa? Didn't he go to Auburn?

Frank Thomas sounds like a really generic white guy name. Also, lol at police beating up white kids. They dindu nuffin wrong etc

Well it crosses Paul Bryant Ave and is one block from Gene Stallings Drive.
Eta: apparently he coached at Bama in the 30's and 40's and won them a few of their retroactive national titles.

Was at a party once where something similar happened but they checked everyone's ID. Hauled one person off to jail for an outstanding traffic fine.

Tuscaloosa has streets named after their NC winning coaches.

Cops in college towns tend to be extremely aggressive and overreaching when it comes to white male students. This same thing happens thousands of times every weekend all over the country

There is another Frank Thomas. He played QB at Notre Dame for Knute Rockne and was the head coach of Alabama from 1931-1946. He won us a pair of MNCs during his long tenure there.

These cops were clowns. The one part they clearly had the guy against the wall and then the guy comes in and tases him is probably the worst, next to then beating him with the baton after he's already tased and on the ground.
They are fricked, and should be.

Cop felt threatened because the guy was trying to slam that door on him. Students are lucky they didn't get Markvilled. Also, if the students would have complied then none of this would have happened.

Isn't slam door a little hyperbolic there?

Could have injured the officer. Maybe gotten his hand jammed in there. Could have shot the whole apartment up and killed innocent bystanders and they'd be completely justified due to concerns over officer safety and also the fact that they were playing stupid games and deserve to win stupid prizes.

My favorite part is once the three are being cuffed, the young cop walks in and says "how's everyone doing tonight?"
He was a true baw.

and that cop and the city of Tuscaloosa will rightly get the absolute frick sued out of them.
Doubtful. Alabama lawmakers have made it so the maximum amount you can sue these cities and counties for punitive damages is $100k per individual and $300k per incident. Sounds crazy, but its' true. Tort reform, son.
The cop himself will not be sued. The city may be sued but like I said, there's a max and NONE of it will come out of the police department's budget. Cops will be unaffected by this.
