I would hire a lawyer and to hell with suing them I would look into filing criminal charges against the cops. Assault trespassing home invasion attempted murder, those boys overreacted and need the wrath of God brought down on them.

I mean he didn't really slam it though is what I'm saying. He was kinda just easing it shut.

I'd have to guess a nice federal lawsuit would end up having Tuscaloosa pay out of the arse. They wouldn't give a frick about some bullshite state law.

These types of videos should never be shocking to anyone. We give power and weapons to statistically very low IQ individuals. Dumb people will do dumb shite, shocking I know. That is why the best thing you can do is to comply and fight your battle in court where the higher IQ individuals are.

Not a cop hater, but I am a Bama hater. And I say frick those cops.

Just going by what we see in the lead up videos the kids had every right at that point to shut the door. A noise complaint doesn't give a cop reason to enter the house (essentially what he was doing by refusing to get out of the doorway), especially since they had obviously complied and turned the music off. If he had a reason to arrest or detain them then he wasn't showing it and should have just let them shut the door and come back with a warrant.

The one cop standing in the door was trying to act like some big hard authority by refusing to move so he could show these punk kids whos boss. When they started to shut the door it's clear he acted in retaltion to precieved distespect and everything after looked like the cops brought tazers and batons to a bar fight.

I couldn't imagine dealing with snobby college kids who think they know everything on a daily basis. Talk about a crappy job.

ETA: Not that what the cops did there was right.

Cops in college towns tend to be extremely aggressive and overreaching when it comes to white male students. This same thing happens thousands of times every weekend all over the country

Dealing with city police at USC was always easier than dealing with USC police.

Any job where you have to interact with the public sucks. But you know that's how it is, so you don't take it personally and you just do your job. I mean, I've never seen a video of a waitress or a shift manager at a department store beating up somebody that didn't show them enough respect.

Happened to me once with BRPD. When they got to the party, everyone was inside and no music was playing. Tried closing the door, and they pushed their way in and put everyone in handcuffs.

A couple of years ago in BR a DPS officer kicked in his neighbors door, pulled a gun and his badge over loud music. He was even arrested and charged but ended up keeping his job.

The second video says a lot. The students are basically doing the job for the cop, by asking if the kid in question is under arrest or being detained, but the idiot cop is dumb enough to respond he is under arrest (under what grounds?), then proceeds to assault the kids on private property. TPD bought to get a house cleaning. It amazes me a cop could act that way with at least 3 camera phones on him.

ETA: After the 3rd video, seems obvious TPD is about to get nailed. The original cop reenters the residence, and the cop forcefully removes the girl who was not involved prior to him ripping her out. Wow. Hope those officers are properly removed from the force, and brought to trial for such ludicrous behavior behind the badge.

Had some cops come to my house in college because our alcoholic, bat-shite crazy neighbor called the cops on me and my two roommates. We had no music on or anything. We were just playing video games. Cops came and pulled me out of the house, slammed me on a cop car, handcuffed me and put me in the back of a cop car. Threatened to take me to jail for resisting arrest (which I didn't, just didn't want my face slammed on the hood of a cop car. Plus I just had shoulder surgery.

It was just a couple of young cops looking to start some shite and abuse their authority. Ended up giving a ticket for noise complaint and leaving. Cops are douche bags to everyone. Not just black people.

Here are the mugshots of everyone in Tuscaloosa jail Sunday. As far as I can tell the students in this video are not there. So either A) Nobody was arrested because there was actually no probable cause and TPD didn't want to further instigate this by arresting the kids they'd just beaten (they probably assumed this video wouldn't get out) or B) They had to take the kid to the hospital after tazing him repeatedly and he wasn't processed like a normal arrest.
