A Nitrogen plant?

Dang, that stuff will kill you before you even think something could possibly be off. One hell of a dangerous environment to work in

Nitrogen doesn't kill you, impossible. The lack of oxygen is what kills you.

Any case, the other thread said it was a plant that was being built.

Correct. What doesn't kill you gives you #Gainz.

Stated in the other thread, but will repeat. Wonder if it was natural causes or a process/safety factor that caused it.

Same thing I was thinking.

Working in a vessel has to be confined space entry. Which requires a hole watch.

Depends on so many things. No permit required confined space, what was the opening, was the vessel even completed?

Word is that he fell from 50+ feet. What caused him to fall is up in the air. Also heard that they didn't wait for the police to respond to transport him. Personnel just took him to the hospital themselves where he was later pronounced dead.

How was he "found unresponsive" if he fell?

Don't believe everything you read. The articles also don't mention he fell. Word travels fast in this small arse town

New construction often does not follow the same safety rules as maintenance in an existing unit; especially with some of the non-major refineries/ chem plants. A vessel being constructed in a laydown yard may not be treated like a confined space entry; dumb but there are places that do it that way

Went through new construction last year and they are still byielding parts of our second unit and the previous poster is 100% correct. Whomever is doing the construction is responsible for the worker and most of the time they don't give the same considerations to confined spaces that most of the process industry.
