My take
I think "certain people" waited for Brian to leave his house and he was followed and got an"eye for an eye" ultimately getting dealt with...jmo...
to anyone else who has a daughter, as a dad or a mother wanting to get even, what would you do...not implying but just saying.

Gabby was reported missing on the 11th. Authorities went to his parents' home that night, but got nothing.
He left on the 13th per the parents.

And no one knew the story nationally till a week or two later. He was dead before the people surrrounded his house.
His parents probably knew where he was going to kill himself and they just hoped that he decided not to and got away, but when they never heard from him they knew he had done it and then went to where they knew he would be.

This guy wasn't going to prison. Could have cut his own leg off and left it for the critters and the gators to play with!!!

While it may be a great justice that he’s dead I kind of hate that he is, him being alive would likely provide more answers and he’d have to publicly account for his actions if they are what we think they were

He does not seem that intelligent not have good impulse control. He is not a seasoned outdoorsman. He could not hide this long without significant financial help and the FBI would know about any cash withdrawals from family and friends.
The only chance is that a loved one has him hidden and is bringing him food. But, over years and years, that is almost the same as prison.
I think he is a big enough coward that he won’t face the consequences of his actions and has killed himself already.

FBI Tampa to hold press conference after possible human remains found in search for Brian Laundrie
A senior law enforcement source told Fox News' David Spunt "what appear to be human remains" were found at a site being searched by a cadaver dog within the park. The FBI is expected to provide an update regarding the investigation at 4:30pm eastern Wednesday.
Steven Bertolino, who represents the Laundrie family, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the Laundries informed law enforcement on Tuesday night of their intentions to search the park and met officers there. Bertolino confirmed that while searching areas that Brian frequented, "some articles belonging to Brian were found.
"Officers are now conducting a more thorough search of the area, Bertolino said. A spokesperson for the Sarasota County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the office was called to the Myakkahatchee on Wednesday.
