How has the FBI not found this dude?

How the FBI didn't keep tabs on the dude since 9/11 is crazy.
Tabs on the parents where he was living. crazy.
Some here argued against calling brian a "mastermind" per se yet nobody has the first clue about any of his whereabouts when he started out as being "AT HIS HOUSE" and "LAWYERED THE HELL UP"

Didn't they go on some camping trip with him and then he didn't come back?
Maybe I am oversimplifying things but uhhhhhhh that should be a big clue that the parents know what is going on and where their precious baby boy is.

There are so many cases, the FBI doesn't have the resources to run down every missing person. If the local authorities don't act immediately, and the suspect is willing to leave and cut ties with his home, it is almost impossible to find someone.

Eric Rudolph spent more than 5 years hiding from the FBI in the wilderness...
Rudolph was most likely more prepared to do it, but as someone said earlier, if you can get to the Appalachian trail, it would be very hard to find you and you would be able to pop in and out at various small towns for food, etc.

Why are you so angry with the FBI? Did they do a strip search of you or something at some point? Are the sounds of laughter as you stood there naked being probed still echoing through your head?
You should calm down.
I think it's past time to unstick this thread.

I just started following this case. Am I reading this right? They’re currently searching bodies of water for BL? Isn’t it completely obvious that this guy is on the run, and probably not dead in a swamp somewhere?

The FBI searched his house and found a few favorite locations on his laptop. The thinking is he ditched his phone and other critical evidence.

Law enforcement fails to make arrest in 40 percent of murders in the US, so seems like investigation is proceeding as normal.

There’s really nothing, and I mean nothing, that points to this guy camping out. Camping for 10-14 days or whatever he has been gone takes some preparation. None of his social media or even the pic of his room shows that he camps. His parents have a camper but that has some creature comforts.
Now backpacking is a little different, especially if he’s on the move a lot and can stop in to buy stuff routinely. He does have the hammock he sleeps in.
But I have to assume he’s likely holed up somewhere. His parents likely prepaid with cash for a months rent at some sleazy hotel or cabin or something. A trip to the store once or twice a week with a hat and facemask would be very easy.
Actually camping in that area with nothing “to do” would get boring as hell and he likely does something dumb to give himself away with the lack of activity.
ETA: I mean the guy ate at a Mexican restaurant in Jackson Hole, one of the best places to camp in the world

not angry. my opinion is that they acted grossly incompetent and something originally very uncomplicated is now super complicated and taking up way more resources and time finding this murderer which they should have been 98% sure of in the first place.

That seems pretty likely too. Just curious as to what the hell their endgame is on this.

I dont think Brian is anywhere near that preserve they are searching.
His parents are all in to protect him. They gave him a good headstart to wherever he is now. I'd be shocked he's even still in Florida at his point

No.... Its not "completely obvious". Hence the search.
Both are very plausible scenarios.
What have you seen in the short time youve been following the case, that makes it so obvious to you?

Bothe are very plausible scenarios.
Him having been coincidentally murdered, after his girlfriend was also murdered (presumably by him) is not what I would call a plausible scenario.
He’s on the run.

I would like to know where they went… Did he leave some supplies at a location for him to retrieve at some later date?
And they could cover a hell of a lot of miles with 3 people taking turns driving.
