There will be more evidence. I refuse to believe a spoiled Publix bag boy is the next Dexter. He screwed up and bailed.

I posted earlier about their cellphones. I personally am curious as to what cell tower that "Yosemite text" bounced off of

I worked for the USFS years ago and we marked trail and logging boundaries with orange dots exactly like that.
Believe it not that paint has a small amount of radioactive material in it so it cannot easily be manipulated or duplicated elsewhere.

Perhaps, but has this become a “criminal” investigation yet? (Bearing in mind the distinction between murder and homicide.)

Shifting gears for a moment...and apologies if this may have been discussed previously...but was BL seen by anyone after the camping trip he and his parents were reported by neighbors to have gone on? I think they said they were gone for 3 days. I would agree with the neighbor that it's odd for an adult male his age to go camping with the parents? I guess there's been all kinds of speculation about the purpose of that trip.

I’d have to think it’s more of the former than the latter. But they’ve already bungled this case down there in terms of monitoring him

The funny thing is he could be walking around in public in todays world and no one would be the wiser.

Random white dude with a mask and sunglasses.

Good luck ID'ing him.

He would need cash to operate however.

The cops put yellow tape around the property which would seem to classify it as a crime scene.

I guess that’s definitive at that point. After Monday, any assistance they offered to BL would be aiding and abetting under the Utah statute.

It’s all semantics at this point.
But curiously,
-let’s say BL is my cousin,
- let’s also say because he’s technically (according to the media and authorities) he’s only a POI so I help him elude authorities in speaking with him.
-Now let’s say I help BL exit the Country in my Cigarette Boat
-Now let’s say The very next day the FBI announces BL is a “Prime Suspect”
-Now Let’s say I can only afford a public defender

Am I still good because I only aided and abetted a POI at the time of our contact..?

Or am I now considered an accessory to ______. ?

ABC News just had an expert on that said as long as Brian is just a person of interest, he is free to run and anyone is free to help him.

If this was true, how could the parents ever be charged as accessories after the fact or obstruction?

It's not a guarantee they would be in any instance. They would probably get immunity for telling what they know regardless.

But as far as the expert is concerned, I have another way to explain what he's saying isn't true (again) now that I've thought about it some more.

If naming BL a suspect and issuing an arrest warrant would open up new avenues for the FBI to explore and enable them to dig further into evidence that they haven't been able to previously, why wouldn't they have done so by now? Why would they hold up on issuing a warrant if it could give them more rights to evidence that they haven't previously been able to dig into?

The simple answer is that the FBI has had those rights and those avenues to explore this whole time, and the investigation has nothing to gain by issuing a warrant or naming him a suspect. This could be because the parents chose to hand everything over, or that they're using his "missing person" status to dig into things they normally couldn't, or that the FBI is simply using their federal power to go deeper than a typical PD is allowed or able.

The "expert" on ABC wasn't thinking, or simply doesn't know how the federal agencies work behind the scenes.

If the FBI had ANYTHING to gain by issuing a warrant, they would've after her body was found and discovered to be homicide.

I don’t think there is any problem with any of this if there isn’t a warrant.

Do they actually have some sort of evidence he is there, data signals or something, or are they really only publicly saying they are searching there in hopes he lets his guard down somewhere else?

You wouldn't put that type of manpower, resources, and money into that search if that was your goal.

Well, with the current F B I.....who knows?

Dunno how easy it would be to get the items for the disguise, but I'd just go trans. Whole lot less likely someone is going to accuse some trans-woman (wearing a facemask) of being Brian Laundrie. Maybe Gabby left some makeup behind.

Not a lawyer but I think it would have to do with how much the parents knew when they were helping him. If the cops have reason to believe the parents were knowingly help him escape justice, then they could charge them. But that would be later on, which doesn't help find him right now. Chances are the police already told them if they cooperate they won't be charged.

So if this is true in the relevant jurisdiction...state or federal...the ABC "expert" is wrong.

Your information relates directly to my question but is Utah jurisdiction what is taking precedence??
Or where the warrants are being served?

Who has jurisdiction?
As far as we know the body never crossed state lines.

And As if this isn’t a big enough jurisdictional quagmire to begin with
the mother of GP filed the missing persons in New York.

At some point, I belive the parents will be charged with obstruction of justice, accessory after the fact, and destruction of evidence. May be many more charges both federal and state in Wyoming and Florida forthcoming against the entire family.
