I thought I read in this thread the FBI was looking in that area before that footage was released.
I think I have read that 1)the RW&B folks gave their footage to LE before posting it. and that 2) there was someone else who saw the van driving on the road to the camping area and reported that sighting to LE before the RW&B folks did.

"If his lawyer had given the cops a statement that said they got in a heated argument - one of many on a grueling road trip - and he decided to break up with her, leave her at a visitor center and drive home."

In a stolen van.

But the point being that lawyering up is not evidence of a crime. Only evidence that a person wants to safeguard their rights if the police decide to question them.

This cannot be said enough.

Yes it seems like they could have had cause to take her to jail for domestic violence, as she was named the abuser in the case. Maybe even him to a lesser degree, for wreck less driving.

If you add up all the circumstantial details, it's pretty damning for him.

True, but the lawyer typically provides some type of explanation or alibi coupled with stern statements that his client is 100% innocent, eager to have his day in court and praying for the safe return of the missing person.

That didn't happen here.

This case was bizarre from the start in that all we got was complete radio silence from him and his family and a statement from the lawyer that he had advised them not to say a word, which is why I think it attracted so much media attention (contrary to the cute young blonde theory).

Either he had a bad lawyer or he just flat out told the lawyer he murdered and buried the girl and this placed the lawyer in the ethical predicament of protecting his client's legal interest versus not perpetuating a fraud on the investigation or court.

If his lawyer had given the cops a statement that said they got in a heated argument - one of many on a grueling road trip - and he decided to break up with her, leave her at a visitor center and drive home, then I don't think this case would have ever exploded. I think it would have just been another troubled girl goes missing case. The police would have investigated him, but without the media spotlight, that couple never discovers the dashcam footage of the white van and without that footage they never find her body.

Based on the initial statements from the lawyer which said something along the lines of "regardless of whether BL had anything to do with the disappearance..." I'd say he's a bad lawyer.

Am I overthinking this, or should we be asking if this guy knows how to sail a boat? It’s not like it’s all that difficult to break into a marina at night. If I’m in his situation, I’m trying to get to Cuba anyway I can. And with 10 days he could be there anyway chilling with cop killer Assata Shakur.

This is why lawyers shouldn't be making statements in cases like these unless they're trained in PR or have a PR firm.

He's not going to come clean IMO. Hes going to take it to his grave or keep running and enjoying the press he's getting.

Also, there is a time gap between him being in the swamp and them searching the swamp. If he killed himself there, his body temp would be cold

If this was true and he did indeed kill himself in the swamp, there would not be a body left to discover...maybe a partial body if you're lucky enough to even get that!
