I don’t know. He doesn’t seem like a criminal mastermind that can get away with this and be enjoying it. I can’t see him being anything less than scared or worries if he’s on the run.
Also, I don’t know how he would have time to kick back and enjoy this while he is on the run. Or how he would even be able to use technology to stay abreast of what’s going on.

But why is the question
I think it is a combination of things...
(1) They were living their life online, so people are able to go back and "investigate" their posts
(2) The body cam footage from just days before her death is a fascinating plot twist
(3) The fact that BL just casually drove back to FL like he needed to get back to bagging groceries at Publix
(4) The other youtubers IDing the van
(5) BL missing

I’m def not buying that he was riding bikes and mowing grass.
If true, why wouldn’t cops have brought his parents in already? (Assuming they didn’t, but this would make news).
Haven’t the parents said they haven’t seen him? But he was mowing grass and riding bikes woth them?

So if he thinks he’s a mastermind and really isn’t, how has he evaded cops for over two weeks? Assuming he is still alive? I’d think he’d get too confident in his lacking abilities and slip up.

As Roger pointed out, just because you’re a sociopath does not mean you’re a mastermind. One of the biggest sociopaths I know is simultaneously one of the dumbest people I know.

i'm not here trying to defend his criminal smartness to certain extents. I think the term is being used loosely and not to be taken too literally. I think what I MEAN by using this term is that he is VERY deliberately DECEIPTFUL with his behavior. Where as the girl, she was an open book basketcase.

I’d rather be shredded than constricted. The hog is a bit of a badass way to go, but the snake is simply terrifying.

Probably true. But I don’t see him as the type to be able to survive and elude police for several weeks. Also while enjoying this all and having time and ability to keep aware of the news or look up stuff online.
Yea, if he was a military veteran or LE or something with training, or a wilderness guide, maybe he could do it. But he’s a 23yr old dipshit that should slip up.

But you aren't giving him any credit for the murder events of the situation that made this entire thing very difficult. For shits sake, her corpse was able to be left to rot for maybe over 3 weeks before it was found and able to be investigated. That shite right there is mastermindish to extents. He was able to get the parents to back off for several more days with her disappearance etc. i think your discredited his affect on this entire difficult situation.
