If he's smart his story will be that she did, and he witnessed it and when he threatened to go to the police, she attacked him and he had no choice to defend himself.

With what motivation? It is weird the two cases have a connection of characters.
GP seemed the most unstable. What do the newlyweds have to gain hanging with the couple who was fighting in their coffee shop.

Those lesbians' would have kicked her little arse. The female couple called some friends and told them, a man was at their camp and he was freaking them out, so they were about to pack up and leave. Some lone male transient killed those two.
