What did SS do? I knew that guy from Vic’s bar when I lived in the WHD. He was a quiet but seemed like an okay dude.

For the guys who think there is a low chance at trial, can you explain why?

If he pleas down to 15-20 and goes to Angola, that sounds like a potential death sentence. Why not take the risk and see if you can walk? In other words, I fail to see the difference between 30 and 15 years for a preppy looking white guy.

Not sure. I'm just thinking that I'd rather be in prison with St Tammany criminals than Orleans unless they accept a lot of transfers.

I honestly have no idea, but I'd guess 35-50k through motions, and another 25-50 to try it. Some of those guys take a lot less for media cases though. I doubt Cardell Hayes had anywhere near that for Fuller, and I've heard Fuller can get in that 35k range on just PWITD/gun cases.

All those numbers thrown out there would involve an agreed upon reduction to manslaughter, which is 0-40, with an agreed upon sentence. Would serve 75%.

If the DA and prosecutors are willing to bring it down to manslaughter, does there give them leverage on sentencing? Seems fricked up to be brought on higher charges, in hopes you acquiesce to guilt on a lesser charge and they still get a conviction.

15-40 with possible good time reduction or possibility of automatic life without parole. That’s why you plea if you can.

typically all males convicted or plea to a crime of violence start out at Hunt before the doc finds them a permanant facility

I didn’t realize he was actually locked up, I thought it was all a joke earlier in the thread. He has struggled with drugs so I’d imagine a drug charge or something similar

Are there new updates, that Ward is completely fricked, or is everyone still basing their arguments on 75% missing info?

The truth will eventually come out. I lol at the people who are believing his ratchet arse daughter's word about Garret beating up on a lady. #TeamGarret

If he is found guilty, it's not 30, it's life. And that means he will die there, with zero chance of parole. "Letters are better than numbers." If you get a 50,000 year sentence, you will still he parole eligible.

If he got 15, he'd serve a little over 11. And Angola isn't "a death sentence." He'd be fine there, and there's a ton that they do to pass the time, along with the capability to knock more time off with programs.

That could be 100% false and Ward could still go down for second degree murder.

But I tell people all the time that several of them are much better than a bunch of your mid level private attorneys running around the building.

This is exactly what I was going to say about OPD

Look at what the two public defenders did in Corkfather's case against the second Lee brother compared to how Christensen (conflict panel, so a private attorney contracted with by OPD for that case) did.

Perfect example

No appeals? Continuing to work the legal system? In this scenario?
