No clue what any of that means

Yea Jason still works in the building, though he has Hjortsberg doing most of his stuff. He wouldn't be a bad choice either, has a pretty solid team around him.
I don't know if this guy has money for any of the names being discussed though.

About a 10% chance that case gets tried, and that's only if he and/or the victim's family are unreasonable. Assuming the current stuff is in the realm of truth, 20 would be his best case, 35 is the likely offer with room to move to 30, and 40 is the high end of the plea
Do defendants have the choice in Louisiana of judge or jury sentencing?

How much we talking? Or how is the price calculated?

How does deciding which prison a person goes to work?

So ya boy had to get a public defender? I guess mom and dad told him to kiss their arse.

I don't believe that's accurate.

Pretty sure he meant it like he started out as one and is no longer

It's kind of a shame SS got transferred to the St. Tammany joint.
They could've been cellies.

I would bet 10-20 will be the range on this, I seriously doubt it goes to trial

Judges sentence except for in capital cases. Murder carries mandatory life, though. And life means life in LA.
All those numbers thrown out there would involve an agreed upon reduction to manslaughter, which is 0-40, with an agreed upon sentence. Would serve 75%.

Are there new updates, that Ward is completely fricked, or is everyone still basing their arguments on 75% missing info?

I think it’s luck of the draw. The stigma against public defense has totally ended in the last decade. But as you said, they are inexperienced.
The older ones are either great and idealists or the last batch of bad attorneys.
I would venture that a lot of good crim defense guys started out as public defenders.

There have been no updates other than his bond and people taking guesses at his time

Department of Corrections brings everyone to Hunt, looks at a questionnaire the local jail had to complete with him (education, background, work skills, health). He stays there for 4-6 weeks in a sort of quarantine to adjust while DOC decides which facility is most appropriate. In a case like this, the front end at Angola is most likely. Eta : for a life sentence, I mean.

Probably not for SS. St Tammany has to be way better than OPP
