FB video from someone who has seemed reputable this whole time said a life ring from the vessel was found 96 miles away from the vessel -- found in the Vermilion Block.
Guy's name is Christifer DeRouen if you want to see it.
Anyone fishing/whatever around there keep an eye out!

PHI and the other operators aren’t flying grids with someone glassing the horizon trying to spot blue crabs or gulls. Plus, there aren’t near as Helos flying everyday like there used to be.
And I am not trying to make this political. It just sickens me that most people across the country don’t even know this happened. The only national media I have seen anything mention about it is the weather channel. (Someone did say they saw 1 thing about it on Fox the day it happened.) Hell, a plane crash in Malaysia gets 3 days coverage.
I haven’t even seen our governor mentioning anything about it. (I could be wrong, but I haven’t seen anything on it) Sorry, I guess that was political.

Well I asked the same question about JBE and was told that he mentioned it in a press conference (I don't ok can't listen to those) AND that he mentioned it on Twitter.
I mean he can't fix it or anything but you'd think he'd have gone to see the families, called, something. And maybe he did and we just aren't privy to that.
And yes, it's sad that people outside of Louisiana likely have zero idea. I did hear on Fox this am that there is a capsized submarine "somewhere" (I missed it) and that they're worried about how long oxygen will last. Likely won't hear another thing.

You are exactly right in your thoughts. And just FYI, Donald J Trump made a donation to the United Cajun Navy to assist in the SAR and that to me speaks volumes about the man. I am in awe that someone who has no "skin in the game" anymore, and who no longer has any political affiliation or reason to do so, stepped up and did what so many others could but don't.

So it seems that some life vests from Seacor Power have been found with the beacon cut off ..
Sharing this from fb. Also a water bottle was found "near" these and a tattered American flag they're "assuming" from Seacor was also found.

I just saw that about the life vests. I think it definitely proves that they got out and survived for awhile but I just don’t know how they could possibly be anywhere that hasn’t been searched yet. Seems like they’ve searched every island nearby. I’m praying that there’s still hope.

They found 6 life vests today. One had a light cut off.

Yes .. my udnerstanding is they first searched for air pockets and then went back for a thorough search but no reports since maybe Wednesday or Thursday of recoveries.

Okay wow, so a bunch jumped. I remember something of a concern that there wasn't enough attention paid to searching the area and too much on the vessel itself.
I hope the CG did a thorough air search when this first happened.

The life jackets may be ones that just floated off the vessel when it capsized, and not ones worn by guys on the boat.

I think that 5 jumped ... 2 were rescued, 1 floated away and was recovered later and then the other 2 that jumped were given life jackets and radios from the CG -- they went back into the vessel (IDK how or where) BUT that's what's been reported. Apparently they saw one float away and the other 2 almost NOT be rescued ...

SOLA they could have but if the debris floated that far maybe people did too ... I'm thinking the families just need/want closure.
Also the beacon was reportedly "cut off" of the jacket but that was a report from someone helping at one of the search sites.

If they found multiple jackets were they tied together? Like someone did it on purpose as a sorta raft? Seems odd to find that many in one day if they haven’t found any previously?
I thought at one point that one of the survivors thought most were likely still on the boat that’s why it was concentrated there? Has they been confirmed? Obviously doesn’t make it so, I was just curious if that was just a rumor or if they had some evidence either way?
