Forcing everyone to check their bag would make the check in process and the baggage claim process so much more of a pain in the arse
Also I bet you’d see a rise in lost luggage from the additional work load

Good for you. I did too for a couple decades and that has not been my experience.

I agree. All bags go under the plane unless you can fit in under your front seat.
Bags under the plane should have a conveyor belt that offloads the under carriage bags and people can grab as they walk out.

Solution: Overhead bins are locked, all passengers without luggage in the overhead get to exit first, then overhead storage is unlocked by stewardess going front to back.

Problem goes away if airlines would actually enforce their carry on size rules

Don't' shite on LSU tennis players. It is a great sport and you should go watch the Tigers play. Very exciting sport. LSU has a great crowd. Shame on you. Also, fly fishing is so much damn fun. Jealousy is not a good look. BTW, tennis lifetime sport which adds years to life. So does fly fishing. Don't be a fat arse your whole life. You get rich by making and saving money. I am from Acadiana so I wear the term riff raff with pride.

It's funny to watch the gyrations that some folks seemingly always have to go through when boarding and getting off of a plane. The concepts are relatively simple but some people still manage to turn every boarding and deplaning into a 15 minute deal that screws things up for everyone else.

I don’t think they should be eliminated, but I’ve said for years I think THAT should be what’s charged and checked luggage should be free.
The current setup encourages big arse families heading to Disney to stick every child and adult with a roller bag, backpack, and pillow. Because they don’t want to pay $60 (understandably) to check all that shite in.
Business travelers and people with status will either pay for the bins on company dime or will be comped them because of their status, and the inconsiderate families who have no reason to carry on (but currently do so to save money) will finally check their bags because it’s free.

Just board back to front, and your bag goes over your seat. Problem solved
Couldn’t work. There isn’t enough bin space for 100% of the passengers, and the people who spent more money/have better seats get priority overhead space. Those people sit at the front of the plane.

Just check your bags and wait for them at the carousel.
I used to do that....until the airlines started charging ridiculous fees to check bags.

I fly every week. This would be a nightmare.
Instead of a slightly longer boarding process, now you’d just have a long lines at the gate as everyone has to check their little bags.
