Well i'm not going to be one to complain about my wife's hazard pay plus overtime. Especially when she working on a covid unit then comes home to me my 4 year old and 5 month old.

You sho is angry too but more justifiable
It's laughable that someone would see the TikTok videos and whatever and get pissed. It's silly, morale-boosting fun. There's not much of that to go around in hospitals that were hit hard.
Some people will always find things to complain about.

Dudes a physician, who probably works 3 times a week, makes enough money that this doesn’t affect him, and spends his down time scrolling Facebook and raging to appreciation post. It’s unfortunate we lost 20k + Americans and this dude still exists.

It’s a shame it takes tragic situations for the unappreciated to get noticed, but sometimes you have to remind people who take special humans for granted.
It’s the healthcare’s moment. Accept it, because if they all decided to strike you’d be SOL.

As someone that works in healthcare, this has reached an incredible level of self appreciation. This is literally what we all went to school for. The purpose of our work is to help people. The purpose of our work is to be there in the time of need. That's all this is. We don't deserve increase pay. We don't deserve forgiven student loans. These are the risks we accepted when we went into the field.
Put your head down, do your job.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just sick of the attention grabbing.
Yet you posted all this for attention anyway.
Here's your attention

No one is asking for your hospital. But it's very clear that you work somewhere that has basically no impact from this, which makes this thread of yours hilarious.

Imo it's ok to be incredibly grateful of the job healthcare workers do and also recognize that it's what they signed up and studied for.
I don't really care about and loan forgiveness or pay bumps, that's for your higher ups to decide, but the food, goodies, spotlight and recognition you're getting now is a deserved.

Why do we need to be noticed? Did you go into your field for the adoration of others, or did you go into being a firefighter to help people? I promise you I work more than enough hours. I work significantly more than national average. I take call q2-4. I don't get weeks or days off after call.
Again, I signed up for that. I'm not complaining and I'm not looking for your assurance. I have seen people on the front lines saying nothing, and I respect them immensely. I have seen also every RN, LPN, MD become an epidemiologist and ID experct for a virus they had no knowledge of 3 months ago. As some one working around it daily, I'm just sick of it.

My city is the second most infected in our state. We currently have > 30 patients on the vent secondary to this (1/3 or our ICU capacity). We are not severe, but the local response for adoration is still the same.
That is also my problem with this. It's not only hard hit areas where people are busting out their healthcare cape.
Sure, if you are in NYC and working 30 straight days, I respect you and you have my empathy. That is less than 1% of healthcare professionals.
