Two things: How long before other universities follow suit?
Is the selective process of only testing fraternities specifically and not students at large really fair? Are you frat stars triggered?

Every week, several members of the University of Alabama's Sigma Nu fraternity chapter are randomly chosen to report to a cluster of dingy offices on the bottom floor of the school's Russell Hall and urinate in a cup

It's hard to fathom how much has changed with regard to college in like the past 20 years. It's unreal.

No way is this constitutional.

Right, it's the same line of thinking that prevents us from drug testing people on food stamps.
Really not sure how this is being accepted

UA might have some leeway if they are classified as social clubs.............BUT
you'll have to start piss testing err'one now - French Club, Glee Club, everyone on scholarship. What a stupid thing to do.

Alabama should be drug testing its football players, not frat people

Good. If they are drug tested maybe they won't drug and rape women.

The NCAA mandates drug tests to student athletes at Alabama just like everywhere else. I even heard of a player at one school a few years ago that failed "more drug tests than he could count" but that number got into the double digits before he was booted off the team. Let's try to stay on topic and not turn this into a football discussion just because Alabama football players are bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else. This thread is about the precedent and constitutionality of drug testing fraternity members. Tia

We had to do this in accordancce with drugs being found in our house. Part of the risk management process. My guess is that these fraternities had something similar happen to them and its just not being released to the public.
