If you are married and have or planning to have children. North of George Bush Tollway is astronomically superior to Dallas.

It is such a huge shithole south of 635. Yes there are some legit nice arse old money plays uptown along that Preston path, but that is it. I dare say posters here do not live there either

If you are single thinking Dallas is a cool place to live, what the frick is wrong with you

McKinney airports may offer some commercial flights

If they can make it work without threatening the DFW hub status.....it would be a big win for north Texas.

I live in Mckinney and the whole area is completely blowing up. Wife and I are discussing selling the house and moving elsewhere as I can work from anywhere

Frisco had too many apartments and can see this being tied to building even more affordable ones for its workers (along with other woke measures as calling it family friendly means nothing when they redefine what that entails).

The Star is used by local high schools and the Cowboys are big part of the metroplex, but this seems like a strange fit for a city that says it wants to balance life and work with its residents. It would suck for anyone living close to it. Once it’s no longer new the residents will probably rather take kids somewhere else.

You really belong in a trailer park in Livingston Parish

Deep Thoughts by notiger1997…

At least you didn’t go as low as saying that I belong in Jefferson Parish bragging about making fun of annoying older women on Facebook neighborhood groups.

Nothing quite says keyboard warrior like a notiger post.

I've lived south of Mockingbird for 30 years and wouldn't live anywhere else in DFW. Its like a small town down here with everything within a 10 minute drive.

What the frick is wrong with you? Young singles are everywhere down here.

There are young singles in every metropolitan place. Personally Dallas is not where I would want to be.

Seriously though, Dallas is a shithole.

I get that, personally I wouldn't want to be in the burbs but I get there are plenty of people that do, such as yourself. But there are plenty of people, too many now, that want to be in the city and Dallas has a vibrant core of neighborhoods that are pretty good places to live.

THO lives in NOLA now I think.

Pretty incredible that you basically have the inverse opinion of me. Being single in Uptown was fun as frick, especially before the cop shootings. We moved to NW Arkansas because living up in a suburban hellscape 45 minutes from town with no kids seemed no different than being in the middle of nowhere, except the housing costs are absurdly cheap here and the outdoors scene is quality (subpar for a Boise kid but still).

What do your kids do? Go to Botox parties with mom?

Park Cities isn't Dallas though. That's the best part.

I just don’t see the appeal of living north of Preston Hollow. Strip Malls, corporate offices, and new single family residential developments with no character that make fictional space colonies look homely.

Always love when people equate new cool stuff as no character. Ill enjoy Legacy West, the Star, Downtown McKinney (theres your character) and you can have the old run down overly crowded stuff. New and shiny works for me.

True. I mean, there is no downtown UP or HP. Every posh spot is more or less a strip center as is everywhere.

Yes it is, it is what people use to make themselves feel better about old and run down along with crime.

I’m probably one of the more anti-Texas people here but dying on the hill that Dallas is a bad place for young singles is hilarious

ETA- also, there’s something about north dfw that I can’t explain but really don’t like. Id much rather southlake, grapevine, etc
