This is weak. Do better.
I'm afraid that's all you can handle for now.

See above.
You continue proving my points for me.

Not really. My posts are short. I have probably 20 minutes invested in this. Worth it.
I'm still trying to figure out if you realize you're lying or actually believe the stuff you're typing. You're so good at this.

How long does it take you to post "I'm correct?"

You don't know what literally means. Or nothing.

I know.

I know this, too.
PT is a bit stale, so I'm branching out.

Yes I do. Those 2 words combined accurately describe all of the 130+ posts you've made on this topic you don't care about in about 20 minutes.

I know.
Oh, that is so cool how you did that. Intentionally left off part of my post so it looks like I'm saying something I wasn't. Where did you learn how to do that?

A message board that you frequent is stale? Who could've possibly predicted that?

United has already publicly clarified that the flight was not considered oversold.
Derp
No, they said it wasn't overbooked. Overbooked means having more reservations than seats on a plane
Once the other United crew showed up at the gate, then the flight was oversold. Just as if they discovered a broken seatbelt, they would not be able to allow 1 passenger to fly. That flight would not have been overbooked. However, once they discovered the damaged seatbelt, it was oversold

he is the only one that will collect on a huge settlement that won't end there for United. They screwed up royally and have no leg to stand on. Good luck with the contract. It's useless. But carry on, you could not be more wrong.
Wow, that's a lot of confidence to be so completely, totally, and utterly wrong. When you buy a ticket on United it is actually backed up by a 60 page contract that you agree to. The fact that you've never read it, is not their problem. Wanna know what it CLEARLY SAYS?

The request for volunteers and the selection of such person to be denied space will be in a manner determined solely by UA

And it was just updated on Feb 17th, so the Doc wont be able to claim it was outdated, or not enforceable

Well, an aviation attorney that specializes in passenger complaints told CNN this: quote: If United said to the doctor, "here is our written policy about denied boarding. I know you are in a seat, but you are mistaken that we can't remove you. But guess what? You will get refunded whatever you paid if we can get you to your destination within an hour and if it takes longer you could get up to 400 percent."
The problem is their written policy (contract of carriage) isn't a very clear one. Displaced said people keep mentioning that one, I was hoping there was more than it.

There is. It tells you the other applicable documentation in the Contract of Carriage, and you also receive information when purchasing your ticket.

According to the DOT, the only action a passenger has when refused to transport is if their compensation wasn't in line with DOT rules and regs.
There is no question as to whether an airline can deny transport. They can

quote:The contract states that for oversold to come into play has to be complete before the prescribed check-in time.
Once the other United crew showed up at the gate, then the flight was oversold
Considering this was after passengers boarded, safe to say it wasn't in time before the prescribed check in time, no?

quote:That quote is under this section:

quote:
RULE 25 DENIED BOARDING COMPENSATION
Denied Boarding (U.S.A./Canadian Flight Origin) - When there is an Oversold UA flight that originates in the U.S.A. or Canada, the following provisions apply:
It is up for debate and we don't know for sure, but I don't think there's much to suggest the flight was oversold, and probably more to suggest it was not.

quote:

So are they calling this refusal to transport now instead of denial of boarding? That's the interesting part.

Exactly,
quote:
Oversold Flight means a flight where there are more Passengers holding valid confirmed tickets that check-in for the flight within the prescribed check-in time than there are available seats
Available seats, not seats that the plane should hold, or seats on the plane.

No
United was required to get that crew to their next leg in order to avoid an ebtire flight being cancelled due to no crew. HUGE fines are also applied when that happens
Better to make 4 mad, than the DOT and an entire planeload of passengers at the next airport
