I mean, still acting like it was 100% certain that it was NOT oversold despite United and multiple experts in the field saying otherwise, it's just odd. Can you at least see from my angle how that seem very peculiar?
When United was sticking to their guns I could see where they had a case. Good debate cannot be had when everyone is on the same side. Also I picked my argument when I saw the gross misunderstanding of terms and the assertions that United had no legal standing.
The PR team's verbiage completely kills UA's case. They have chosen to completely waive their rights and fall on their face in front of the court of public opinion. This completely killed my argument, but to act like my argument was not valid and case could not be made prior to United giving up is asinine.

Intentionally.

So we basically agree, while both playing devil's advocate on opposite sides.

I am pretty sure we do this often, and often end up in a stalemate though we have the same opinion on the situation.
Now to decide whether that is a good or a bad thing.

I think the key would be defining when a flight is oversold.
that definition is in the contract actually in section 1 / definitions
Check in is probably also defined

As has been discussed yes it is. The definition of check-in is not, because check-in is not defined the actual flat definition of when precisely a flight is oversold is not defined.
ETA: Had you read beyond the first sentence I believe I clearly defined what is up for debate and could be contested.

i didn't mean to come off as a dick, just letting some people know that definitions are in there. I'm posting from my phone at a table at lunch, can't be reading everything everybody writes you know?

I understand, sorry for being a dick. I'm a bit pretentious and certainly an arsehole, but doing it on here vs in the real world has been great for my relationships with friends and family.

Its cool I do the same thing. Comment would have normally been dickish in intent, but I was in a good moment...
