Unique tornado drone footage?

Kinda begs the question do all tornados have smaller ones in or around them? I searched and didn’t see anything.

That is amazing video. I hope this drone tornado footage trend keeps up.

Seems like a drone under it's own power is overkill for a tornado.
Just put that old JVC camcorder out there and let it get sucked up; save those $ for that insurance deductible.

That's what's called a multi-vortex tornado and is seen in the strongest of strong tornadoes
So the fact we can see the multiple vorticees so well means that's an absolute beast of a storm
That ain't a EF1

It is unique in the sense that every tornado is unique.
This has many similarities to Reed's Andover drone video. Drones have really given a new perspective to tornadoes and storm chasing.
Let Dr. Leigh Orf and his supercomputer explain what is going on. Though not perfect and lacking any account for friction, both this video and the Andover tornado video show some of the elements Orf's modeling has generated. Interesting stuff.

Here's a little light reading about that from the man himself: Ted "Mr. Tornado" Fujita". Lots of words.

Multiple vortices on that thing are some of the best I've ever seen on video.

There was a pretty horrifying video of a new helicopter that got too close to a tornado and, well it was terrible. You could see someone from the back (likely a cameraman getting sucked out as the helicopter lost control and was pulled into the tornado.
One of the rare videos that gave me chills.

The answer is......maybe.
All tornadoes have a horizontal vorticity element to some degree. That horizontal vorticity gets stretched into the vertical to form a tornado. Many tornadoes have visible mesovortices that rotate around the parent tornado, and many others likely have them at times, though they aren't visible. Those mesovortices can rotate both cyclonically or anti-cyclonically, and they're often times stronger than the parent tornado.
It is most likely a mesovortices (or satellite tornado) that killed Tim Samaris and crew.

Nope. It is 100% real.

I really had this thought as well. The video is almost too good, but it seems to be legit according to the comments

There's other footage from chasers that show the same tornado from different angles.
Reed's drone video of the Andover, Kansas tornado from a couple years ago:

I'll look for it but iirc Youtube took it down.

It is incredible stupid how susceptible they are to inclement weather and cannot be recycled. I believe nuclear facilities are designed to take direct hits from airplanes and up to several kinds of missles while keeping the electricity on.
