I think you arengiven the names by others. You sign books with tidbits of info as you progress on the trail.

Yes, think that's how it works.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of pages on websleuths.com with people trying to establish his identity. Nothing. The people there are among the best, too. Helped a family close to me solve a 30-year-old missing person case. It’s crazy how nobody knows who this guy was in today’s age of social media, surveillance, and general overexposure.

The Hiker's DNA has confirmed a connection to Louisiana. He was one of us.

If I could change my username, I would change it to “unidentified hiker”

Can’t believe this hasn’t been solved yet.

Most hikers said he had no overt accent.

Yes but that doesn’t mean anything if he had been adopted or grew up in a different place and never came to Louisiana.

Probably thought he was from New Jersey or something

Eh, I mean there's a lot of cool people on the trails but there's also a lot of freaking weirdos soul searching. Supposedly the guy was on what his 3rd trail in 3 years or something? Wouldn't doubt that he potentially lost his only family or something of that nature right before he started.

Very strange.

I thought that too. If they can match him, even distantly, with people here, can they not contact those people and ask who the hell he is? The article i read didn’t explain.
