Tara has been gentrified. The school sucks but the neighborhood doesn't. A lot of Our Lady of Mercy parents bought there due to proximity to the school

I rented a house in the garden district around 2003-2004, and hated it. Roaches everywhere, street parking, frequent car break-ins. I guess it’s a nice neighborhood but definitely an acquired taste.

They aren’t struggling, but the recent crime uptick sure doesn’t help. What happened before the flood when there was only 60 something murders and not this craze of 100 plus homicides?

How could I forget the traffic. So actually the prices make a lot of sense. Anyone who can afford it will gladly pay an extra $200k to avoid that soul sucking traffic.

That's the reason we moved back from the burbs. Kids are already in private school. Might as well live 10 minutes from the office

Broadmoor may not be a white neighborhood, but the Asians and Hispanics are keeping it reasonably safe. My issue with it is more that it's inconvenient and the houses are dated.
The northern end of Sherwood, now THAT has become a bad neighborhood!
Also, Kip was a great mayor. He occassionally dreamed too big, but consistently nudged BR in the right direction. The city is vastly improved now compared to how it was when he took over.
Broome looks like 4 years of disaster, but we can't pretend that Baton Rouge doesn't have some built-in advantages that give it a higher floor than Jackson, MS, which may as well be a Demilitarized Zone.

NOLA RE market is incrementally increasing, but imagine what it would be if it weren't top 5 murder capital of the country.

Do you even Valley Park, bro? There's halfway houses all over southdowns and a homeless camp behind the Wal-Mart on College
And there are crosswalks on Perkins.

look dude I get that youre from plaquemine and they don't teach y'all geography in high school but I just described the traverse that every person that lives in valley park takes when they want to rob people in southdowns

Culcha isn't a color, it's a life style. There is a massive amount of culcha in Livingston Parish
