Do they not test for that shite anyways?
Part of the screening is asking the donor questions. My childhood friend who was a hemophiliac received a blood transfusion from someone infected with HIV and died before he was 21.
Houston Methodist Screening
HIV doesn't show up in blood for several weeks which is the reason why "high-risk" individuals are not allowed to donate blood.

All donated blood is taken to our laboratory and tested for several infectious diseases. If you donate blood, it will be tested for the following conditions:
HIV antibodies (HIV-1/HIV-2)
Hepatitis B virus (Hepatitis B surface antigen, Hepatitis B core antibodies, ALT)
HIV-1 antigen
Hepatitis C virus antibodies
HTLV antibodies (HTLV-1/HTLV-11)
Syphili

I'd much sooner receive blood from a gay guy than some of the nasty skanks I've known.
I mean, they test the blood, right? It's not just a crap shoot.

I think we found one of the original advocates for banning the screening of blood supplies for HIV.

So they need dozens more bags of blood? What problem were they solving for? Inclusion or medical need? Seems like the former, which seems to go against their muh science argument but this certain segment has never been hypocritical at all one day in their life, so maybe it is medical need.

This is exactly right.
A blood supply where high risk individuals are allowed to donate just so their feelings aren’t hurt is dangerous.

At this point I’m sure all blood is tested for damn near everything before being used.
