I was stuck in a 6 person seating compartment on the overnight train from Copenhagen to Cologne one night with a guy who didn't bathe from somewhere "spicy" and the smell was indescribable.

While he is not wrong, calling out particular countries is a reach in today’s climate. Say “practice good hygenie” and be done with it

Having worked at Disney World, some times in enclosed spaces with guests who smell awful from being sweaty, some people from certain cultures do smell gaggingly awful. I will 100% back them when they tell them they need to wear deodorant. I don't give a frick where you're from or what color your skin is. If you stink, you stink. And nobody wants to smell you.

I had a girl at Disney that I had to train. Was supposed to train her for 3 of her 6 days of training. Just as white trashy as you can get. She smelled awful, her hair had clearly not been washed in at least a week. And her breath smelled like she had been eating pickled dog turds.
I called in to work the next 2 days so I wouldnt have to train her again. The person that covered her training in my absence gave me a well deserved "frick you" next time he saw me.
This girl had to be told....HAD TO BE TOLD....to stop picking at the scabs on her legs while on stage in front of guests.

People know whether they stink or not. Detail will get your arse in a bind where Human Resources issues are concerned. Best route is to issue a general blanket statement and move on.
