How do you draw on google? We should do a best routes outta town and in town thread!

From Napoleon/Magazine, here's my go-to outta town:
Left Marengo, right Freret, left at general Taylor (if high traffic time), otherwise left at Lousiana. Then right on clairborne then i10 east or west.

Which cab company is yours? Ain't no time like now to start name dropping. The competition is already in here

8 minute walk to St Charles, 9 minutes between streetcars (just timed it. 4:08 and 4:17

Lemme see how I can tear this apart

RED)Taking St. Charles between Tulane and Audubon is a terrible idea. Either way is packed in the afternoon.

GREEN)I see no real benefit of taking State over Nashville even to St. Charles, but I'll try again. The real problem, is Ursuline and McMain at Nashville and Claiborne. Nashville gets backed up all the way to Freret some times. I find using the destroyed Jefferson to be faster Take it Claiborne then left then back right onto Nashville.

BLUE)Jefferson at St. Charles heading north was closed last time I took it. But that's changing all the time.

But these routes are generally what I take. Guess that's as fast as it gets.

They're not reliable at all. My ex and I lived near Creole Creamery (so a few blocks from St. Charles, right between Jefferson and Napoleon). She got a job in the CBD and started taking the streetcar to work. She would sometimes wait as long as 30 minutes for one to come by in the morning. It was a big contributor towards our moving to a lesser place that was technically on the edge of Central City.

you probably got 3 or 4 free rides from me so I expect a free beer or two next time I see you

3 or 4 rides = ~$70. That's closer to blowjob territory than beer territory.

I think that is Magazine not St. Charles if I drew St. Charles I meant magazine.

Just get to Leake and cut through Hollygrove

See, the lines through the residental areas are just for general direction, you need to just see the grid in those areas and know when you can jump over two street and still get to your point.

Ah ok. I take that through the park all the time. Appears I'm bitching about the best route.

Goes to show you midcity traffic is way better but no surprise worth 4 and 6 lane roads nicely paved

I have to drive all over the city all the time.

I hate having to get from Gentilly to Uptown or from the Westbank to Challmette.

Chalmette to Uptown, shite isn't too bad at 4:15. I would rather sit through BR traffic than that commute at 5.

you really only have Claibourne or St. Claude. The Florida bridge is okay for cutting to Gentilly then to 610. But 610 is useless when going uptown. You can chance 10 west through the city, but it backs up all the time. Claibourne can suck too.
Honestly sticking to St Claude and then getting to Tchoup works as does taking Miro to Orleans then Orleans to Broad or Jeff Davis as far as getting out of stop and go, but it's debatable if it's faster.

The biggest problem with St Claude is Rampart and Tulane. That is the center of the clusterfrick universe.

Have found Claiborne to 10, get off back on Claiborne at Canal to bypass the 90 flyover and then head uptown.

Still working on it. Have thought about going straight through the quarter too.
