No, you're missing your own point.

Every "problem" you're describing is a result of the government interfering in the free market. And your proposed solution is to have the government interfere more in the free market.
C'mon man.

Yes, we should end all medicare, food stamps, section 8, SS, etc. because they aren't sustainable, hard to regulate, people would be better off investing themselves, yada, yada, yada.

I agree with you, but you can't change the game midstream and put people on the streets without a transition plan. That's what happened here. The gov created a situation, people complied, then they willingly allowed a group to circumvent established laws while not allowing the "overly regulated" group the ability to counter.

That's what is missed. Sure end all regs free market, strip clubs where they weren't allowed before, serve alcohol to minors, whatever the "public wants". But compensate me for the liquor license that you charged me for, allow me to also serve minors and not just app based bars, and establish a transition plan....i.e. by 2025 minors can order drinks at bars with an app because law states that minors cant order, but doesn't specifically say that an app can't.

If they in 2010, established that there's no limit on the number of taxis by 2015. Taxi companies would have brought in 1,000s of more vehicles and had drivers ready for the new rules. The ride share apps wouldn't have had a shot.

I thought in Trump’s America we liked government regulation because fair trade not free trade, etc.? Did I miss where we were back to doing the libertarian thing on this board?

You do know that all those regulations were put into place at the behest of the taxi companies, right?

An industry emplacing artificial barriers to entry via stringent regulation to limit supply is one of the oldest tricks in the book - quite literally, as there were industries doing this in Ancient Rome - to keep competition out and profits healthy.

Good riddance.

So,I take it you, along with everyone else who thinks they are worth more than they are paid, will just go find another job before ever asking your current employer for a raise.

They aren't employees, they are independent contractors. You work to an agreed upon rate. If you don't like it, then try to renegotiate. If they refuse, either accept or go somewhere else. No need to throw a temper tantrum and DEMAND a higher rate. That's what children do.
