One can only hope that this happens. What an asinine policy. Bet there is some staff of that school that could get in trouble for this too.

And the left wants to pretend it isn't mentally ill.

This was probably the motive, and the school administrator that did the suspension is probably in on the take.

Fake news

Wrong. And they're even trying to cover their asses, quietly. What idiots.

quote:

The Lacey school district quietly changed a policy last week that prohibited students from legally handling a gun off campus after being threatened with a lawsuit by a gun advocacy organization.
***
It now omits any mention of possessing a weapon off school grounds and doesn't mention a specific suspension length. It also includes a note on buses.

"Students are forbidden to carry any type of weapon or simulated weapon to school," the revamped policy states. "Strict disciplinary action and legal actions will result if this occurs. Any person who knowingly has in his possession any imitation firearm in or upon any part of the building... without the written authorization of the governing officer of the institution, or while on any school bus is a disorderly person."

School has stated that they haven't been suspended. Or they weren't suspended because of the photos.

Could read it either way.

But the school boards written policy is to suspend student for possessing guns on or off campus.

2nd amendment says to GFY Lacey Township High School officials and trumps whatever you want to say.

Ain’t that some bull shite.

I know. Being "in-school" takes all the fun out of being suspended.

Definitely doesn't have the same punch as out of school suspensions.

Went to high school in Texas. On more than a few occasions I remember kids getting busted for coming straight to school after being at their ranch, etc, forgetting to drop of their weapons. In every situation the triggers were lock and NO ammo was in the car. Most of the time they were asked to "go home" for the rest of the day.

I went to HS in Baton Rouge and I remember friends duck hunting before school and leaving their shotguns in their car with shells.

They obviously had them in gun cases hidden under seats, but it wasn't like anyone was worried they'd get in serious trouble really.

I'm 30 btw. These days I'm sure that's a huuuuuuge deal.

We all understand that this is a stupidly written policy that was misinterpreted by an equally stupid administration? Right?

I think it is pretty clear that the JackLeg that wrote that meant "possession of a weapon, on or off campus, during the academic year OR AT ANY SCHOOL SANCTIONED EVENT..." For instance, possession of a weapon at a school football game that is off campus or on a field trip off campus.

The real story here is that the Principal of that school wasn't bright enough to say "hey, this isn't what the policy means and these kids did nothing wrong..."

All things considered, this is why you stay off social media.

And I'm talking FB, SC, IG, etc., not TD.

That still says you could get in trouble for having a weapon off campus somewhere that has nothing to do with a school event

Yeah, I'm starting to feel that way myself. People are looking to get you in trouble.
